A U.S. government agency that maintains a list of men who could be drafted (conscripted) into the armed forces during a national emergency.

Who must register for the Selective Service?

Almost all male citizens and male immigrants residing in the U.S.

Between what ages are men required to register for the Selective Service?

Between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-five (25).

Does registering for the Selective Service mean you are joining the military?

No. It only means you are registered in case a military draft is ever needed. The U.S. currently has an all-volunteer military.
