Is the product of \(7\) and any other number always odd or even?
It alternates. \(7 \times 1 = 7\) (odd), \(7 \times 2 = 14\) (even), \(7 \times 3 = 21\) (odd), and so on. If you multiply \(7\) by an odd number, the result is odd. If you multiply by an even number, the result is even.
Remembering \(7 \times 8 = 56\) is often tricky. What's a good way to remember it?
Think of the numbers in order: \(5, 6, 7, 8\). The answer to \(7 \times 8\) is \(56\)!
